More Recruitment Group attended and sponsored the NBEAs

The More Recruitment Group leadership team recently attended the Northamptonshire Business Excellence Awards, an event that celebrates the absolute best of the county’s business community.

Supporting the important Awards event matters to us. It highlights talented teams and amazing individuals who drive positive change. This includes Northamptonshire’s promising apprentices, inspiring employers, trailblazing businesses among many other standout finalists.

The Northamptonshire Business Excellence Awards

When interviewed about the event, Gavin shared:

“The Northamptonshire Business Excellence Awards are important to the county. They bring businesses and people together, and it’s a really fun environment. Three words to describe it would be community, supportive and excellence.”

Over five hundred guests attended the ceremony, held at the Northamptonshire County Cricket Ground in Abington. The evening opened with Ben Thomas, Managing Director of the event’s organisers All Things Business. He delivered remarks on important issues to the local business community, including strengthening links to education and mental health.

He also announced that the award for outstanding contribution to the county is now called the David Laing Award. This award honours the former Lord-Lieutenant of Northamptonshire, who supported local businesses and sadly passed away earlier this year.

Comedian Alex Horne from TV’s Taskmaster and his band The Horne Section served as the night’s hosts, delivering some hilarious musical comedy and stand up as they presented the county’s finest with their awards.

Musical guests included Billy Lockett, a Northampton based singer-songwriter, who made a special appearance as part of the NBEA’s partnership with Kelly’s Heroes, a mental health and suicide prevention charity. He performed his song ‘I Could Use A Friend’, which explores his own experience of poor mental health.

The night was closed by James Argent, also known as Arg from The Only Way Is Essex, and Tony Roberts singing some hits for the remaining revellers on the dancefloor.
